How much is a windshield tint ticket in Florida?

Illegal tint in Florida is a non-moving violation. The fine is set by the county and usually runs around $100 to $130 with court costs, and officers can require the film to be removed. Windshield tint below the AS-1 line is illegal without a medical exemption.

The ticket

A non-criminal, non-moving violation. The base fine and court costs are set per county and typically land around $100 to $130. Some officers issue a fix-it ticket requiring removal and proof; some jurisdictions add a fee. It does not add points.

Medical exemptions

Florida issues medical exemptions for darker tint with a physician's statement. The exemption certificate must be in the car.

How we keep you legal

Every window is measured and the film chosen per window. With ceramic film, a legal 28% front and 70% clear IR on the windshield reject more heat than illegal dark dyed film, so there is no reason to break the law for comfort.
