Paint Protection Film · Ceramic Pro Elite Dealer, Davie FL

Is a PPF car easier to clean?

Yes, and much easier with a coating on top. Film is smoother than paint and its topcoat is hydrophobic, so dirt and bugs release with less effort. Add the Ceramic Pro coating we include with Full Front and Full Body and most dirt rinses off before you touch the car.

Why film cleans easier than paint

Paint has microscopic texture and pores that hold dirt. Film has a smooth, engineered topcoat that sheds water and does not let contaminants key in. Bugs and bird droppings sit on top instead of etching, and they release with soap instead of scrubbing.

Why coated film cleans easiest

A ceramic coating bonded to the film adds hardness and hydrophobics. Water beads and runs, carrying dirt with it. Most washes become a rinse, a soft mitt on the lower panels, and a dry. We include a $549 Ceramic Pro coating with every Full Front and Full Body install for this reason.

What stays the same

What gets better

No swirls from washing: the topcoat heals light marks. No etched water spots from sprinklers on coated film. No polishing, ever, on the filmed panels.

Related questions, answered.

Does PPF damage paint when removed?
Not factory paint, when it is removed properly. Film is designed to come off with heat and leave clean paint behind. The two exceptions are repainted panels, where the respray can lift, and film left far past its life. Full answer →
Can you remove PPF at home?
You can, but it is slow, it needs a heat gun and patience, and on a resprayed panel it can pull the paint. For most people, having it removed at the shop costs less than fixing one mistake. Full answer →
Is PPF hard to install?
Yes. It is the hardest thing we do. Film is installed wet, stretched by hand around compound curves, with badges and trim off and edges wrapped, in a room with no dust. A full front is a day of work by someone who does it every day. Full answer →
Is it okay to put PPF on headlights?
Yes, and we include headlights in every package starting with Partial Front. Modern headlights are polycarbonate: they chip, pit and yellow in Florida sun. Clear film stops the pitting and the UV, and it is optically invisible on the lens. Full answer →
