The first week
Film is installed with a slip solution and the adhesive bonds as it dries. For seven days: no washing, no pressure washer, no picking at the small water pockets that show under the film. They evaporate through it. After a week the film is fully bonded.
Automatic washes
- Touchless. Fine. High-pressure water and detergent, no contact.
- Brush or cloth. No. The brushes carry the grit of every car before you and drag it across the film. The self-healing topcoat handles light marks, but not that, every week, for years.
Pressure washers
Fine at 12 inches or more, fanned nozzle, never aimed along an edge. An edge hit point-blank at close range can lift.
Hand washing, the right way
- Two buckets, pH-neutral soap, a clean mitt.
- Wash top-down, rinse often.
- Dry with a plush towel or a blower. Do not dry-wipe dust.
- No wax with abrasives, no "cleaner waxes", no compounds. A spray sealant made for film, or the Ceramic Pro coating we include with every Full Front and Full Body, is all it needs.
