The price question, answered straight
For the whole car, a quality color-change wrap in Inozetek, 3M or Avery costs less than Full Body PPF, which starts at $4,990. For the front only, Full Front PPF from $1,799 is often comparable to wrapping the same panels, because the labor is similar and film is film.
Why the price is not the point
- Wrap is a color. 3 to 4 mil cast vinyl. It changes how the car looks and takes light abrasion. A rock at highway speed goes through it.
- PPF is armor. 7.5 to 8.5 mil urethane, clear, self-healing. It exists to stop chips and swirls. It does not change the color.
- Lifespan. Wrap: five to seven years in Florida sun with care. PPF: 10 years warrantied on Urban, lifetime on Ceramic Pro PPF.
When each one wins
You want a new color: wrap. You want the color you have to stay perfect: PPF. You want both: colored or matte PPF gives the finish change and the protection in one film, from $5,549 for a full car.
The combination most people miss
Wrap the car and put PPF on the front bumper and hood over the wrap. Chips on a wrapped nose are the number one reason wraps get redone early.
